Chengdu, abbreviated as "Rong", also known as Rongcheng and Jincheng, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province, the capital of the province, a sub-provincial city, a mega-city, a national central city, and a gourmet city. Chengdu has been known as the "Land of Heavenly Capital" since ancient times. It is one of the first batch of National Famous Historical and Cultural Cities, the birthplace of ancient Shu civilization, and the best tourist city in China.

 Hub, the residence of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Western Theater organs, by the end of 2021, has 130 national innovation platforms, 54 national enterprise technology centers, 312 of the world's top 500 enterprises have settled in the city, and it is the host of the 31st World University Summer Games. Chengdu is home to such historical sites and humanistic landscapes as the Wuhou Temple, Dufu Cao Tang, Yongling, Wangjiang Tower, Qingyang Palace, Wenshu Temple, the Mausoleum of the Ming Shu Kings, and Zhaojue Temple. Chengdu is also the habitat of giant pandas in Sichuan and has a giant panda base.
